Collyweston village hall is run by a volunteer committee for the benefit of the community. It's costs are met by fund-raising.
Registered charity number 1065057
The village hall was built in 1877 as a school for the village, but it eventually became necessary to have a playground so the school moved to a new site on Main Road in 1911.
The building is owned by Burghley House Preservation Trust and leased to the village hall committee, as it has been for many years. The hall was modernised and extended in 1999, with the help and donations of local people, to include a kitchen, toilets and meeting room. A stage was built for performances. The annual pantomime by the Collyweston Players is a very popular village event.
